Second Chapter In Disciples Franchise “Disciples: Domination” Announced

The second chapter of the strategy RPG Disciples franchise has been announced today. Developed by Artefacts Studios and published by Kalypso Media, Disciples: Domination is expected to release in 2026 on PC, Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5.

The follow up to 2021’s Disciples: Liberation, Domination takes place 15 years after the events of Liberation in the same world of Nevendaar. Players will once again fill the role of Avyanna, the ruler of the world. With factions split and the world in chaos, Avyanna must do everything in her power to stop her kingdom from crumbling down.

Players will have to make choices as Avyanna that will affect the gameplay and who is on her side. With four separate factions in Avyanna, every decision will count, pissing off some while making others happy. Who decides to join Avyanna’s side will depend on those choices.

Domination will return to Liberations RPG playstyle, offering a tactical, grid and turn-based combat system with faster pacing and enhanced interactions. Depending on which factions you have on your side will dictate battle, with specific abilities tied to each faction as well as unit synergies.

New Developer At The Helm

It is interesting to note that developer Artefacts are new to the Disciple franchise. Liberation was developed by Firma Studio who is not involved in this project. For a trilogy to have already switch developers is an interesting choice by Kalypso, but the initial announce trailer does look encouraging. How Artefacts will see the vision of the series only time will tell.

Kalypso Media, the publishers most known for the Tropico series have been extra busy this year. They released Commandos: Origins earlier this year and are still releasing Tropico 6, Dungeons 4 and Railway Empires 2 updates. They also announced Sudden Strike 5 last month with a 2026 release date.

  1. Got my fingers crossed for this! Really enjoyed the first one until I got to the end. That’s when I found out that to get the “true” ending, you’d have to replay the entire game, but you don’t get to carry anything (gear, stats, nuthin’!) over. To which I said, “Screw that.”. Here’s hoping Artefacts won’t make that mistake. 🤞🏽
