Monster Hunter Wilds may be moving closer and closer to end game but a new Monster Hunter Stories rises to keep players seeing their favorite monsters.
The July 31st Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase opened up with our first look at Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. When you enter the site, you see an egg that upon clicking it will spawn two Rathalos. The site then states, “Two Rathalos, born in a twist of fate.” Their fate? Igniting the flames of war between Azuria and Vermeil.
Play as the heir to the kingdom of Azuria who also happens to be the only Rathalos rider as far as the kingdom stretches. The heir is diligent in their duties but a life-threatening event changes everything and sends our hero out to a forbidden land in search of the truth. The hero will find themselves joined by Eleanor, the princess of Vermeil also looking to find the truth. For Eleanor, this truth involves her sister, the current Queen. What will these two find on their journey and can they find a resolution to the reawakened war?
Monster Hunter Stories play very differently than the Monster Hunter mainline games that people know and love. The first entry was released in 2016 with the second one in 2021 and both were turn based story rich RPGs. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection will continue to be a turn based entry in the Monster Hunter world.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection will launch in 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). Will you be picking it up when it releases?
