Hell Clock has officially launched today on Steam but Rogue Snail is not ready to close the history books on this one just yet. Made by the Brazilian dev team at Rogue Snail, we see a dark retelling of the War of Canudos, a dark and almost forgotten period of history in Brazil. Now, playing as Pajeu, players explore this history, meet historical figures, and race against time to save a soul.
"Hell Clock is our love letter to Action RPGs, roguelikes, and Brazilian History," said Mark Venturelli, CEO of Rogue Snail and Creative Director on Hell Clock. "We're all huge fans of both genres, and we play way too much Path of Exile. Our goal with this game has always been to fit the feeling of an entire PoE league or Diablo season into just a few hours of Hell Clock."
In Hell Clock, players experience a full three-act campaign and upon launching the beta version of Ascension, the end game challenge where you simply must get good to beat the odds. This standard version is available now for $19.99 USD. However, Rogue Snail has much more up their sleeves for Hell Clock. Those who are interested can purchase the base game, future expansion, soundtrack, and the "Step into Hell" visual effect as a bundle for $29.99 USD as part of the Hell Clock Supporter's Edition. Additional free gameplay updates will come out later this year and the paid expansion, Hell Clock: Cursed War, out next year. Let’s take a closer look at these updates below.
Upcoming Updates
Rogue Snail posted their content roadmap on Steam leading all the way to Q1 of 2026. The current road map goes up to the expansion Hell Clock: Cursed War. Rogue Snail has also shared there will be three free updates for Hell Clock over the next few months. While there are few details so far, we’ll share what has been posted on the Steam blog for their roadmap.

In September 2025, we'll introduce Clockmakers' Tools, a major free update that brings a full crafting system, new crafting currencies, and a corruption mechanic that pushes your builds to new levels of risk and power.
In November 2025, the Movement 2.0 update will deliver complete freedom to move and attack with any skill, a fully overhauled animation system, and expand the build potential with all 52 Constellations unlocked.
Then, in Q1 2026, we'll launch our first paid expansion, Cursed War, featuring a brand-new Act 4 campaign, new biomes, monsters, bosses, skills, Relics, and a powerful Cube Crafting System. Alongside the expansion, a free update will roll out the full version of the Ascension Endgame, 12 new biomes, and improved random dungeon generation, making each run more dynamic and unpredictable.
GSC posted our review on the full game yesterday where you can find a deeper dive of the game and its mechanics. Just a few hours before its official release, the demo was sitting at 94% positive reviews.
