The gift that keeps on giving, Xbox Game Pass is known for stealthily dropping in new games. Although the latter-half of this month we already have a stellar lineup – including Grounded 2, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and RoboCop: Rogue City - subscribers are being treated to a bonus game, as Descenders Next just unexpectedly launched into Game Pass.
Descenders Next is now available for subscribers to play on console - Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, PC or via the Cloud. The game is available for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass tier subscribers. Originally planned to launch in Game Pass in April 2025, the game's Game Preview launch was pushed back following player feedback.
Developed by RageSquid and published by No More Robots, Descenders Next is a snowboarding and mountainboarding follow up to downhill biking success, Descenders which itself has been in Game Pass for all tier members for some time. The game can be played solo or online with up to 11 other players. There are multiple stages to perform a wide variety of tricks in.
If you’re not a Game Pass subscriber, you can purchase the game via the Xbox Store. The game is also available in Steam early access.
It’s a good time at the minute for extreme sports games fans. Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3+4 recently launched and we had high praise in our review - it too is in Game Pass; meanwhile skate.'s reboot is launching into early access later this year. Something a little different in the skateboarding space is Skate Story, which will see players battling demons and performing tricks to a stellar soundtrack finally launches this year.
