If you’ve been following Sonic Racing CrossWorlds since it’s reveal, you’ll know that it’s shaping up to be a strong rival to Mario Kart World’s 2025 kart racing crown. We’re really excited about the game at GSC and it was included in our favourites from Summer Games Fest article.
CrossWorlds will feature 24 tracks at launch alongside 15 CrossWorlds – where racers will be warped to, opening up new racing possibilities.
Alongside a large range of tracks for launch, SEGA are looking to deliver an excellent roster of racers for the game. At Summer Games Fest we learned that Ichiban (Like a Dragon / Yakuza); Joker (Persona) and Minecraft characters will be playable. There will also be a Minecraft themed race track. Minecraft content will be via paid DLC.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds SpongeBob, TMNT and Avatar content
If that wasn’t enough, SEGA have announced that more franchises are coming to Sonic Racing CrossWorlds via it’s Season Pass.

SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star will join the CrossWorlds roster. As well as new racers, players can race through a Bikini Bottom track and pay a visit the Krusty Krab.
Yet that’s not all, SEGA have announced that even more franchises will come to CrossWorlds. First up, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and Avatar content will be added to the game at a later date.

The Minecraft, SpongeBob, TMNT and Avatar content will be paid-DLC via the Season Pass. There are two more crossovers TBA, based on those already announced the last two could be quite exciting.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds launches September 25 for PC (Steam and Epic Games), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. A rather wonderful Collector’s Edition will be released by Limited Run Games.
