Expedition 33 Developers Look to Expand Localisation and Accessibility Options

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is arguably the biggest game of the year so far. The breakout hit from little over 30 developers at Sandfall Interactive released in April and has since gone on to achieve incredible sales numbers and critical success.

In our review, we awarded a rare GSC 10/10, saying: “Expedition 33 is the new gold standard for the JRPG… It is, without reservation, a masterpiece – and one of my favourite video games of all time.”.

With a mega-hit on their hands, Sandfall have announced that they’re looking to open the game to a wider audience through more localisation and accessibility options “and all sorts of bits and bobs”. In a post on X, they said new languages and timescales are TBC, but “it’s very much on our radar”.

In the comments to the post, popular requests from the community have been for Arabic and Ukrainian.

Whilst we don’t know what the “bits and bobs” Sandfall have up their sleeves, fans of the game have been crying out for a photo mode to take even more stunning in-game pictures.

Have you played Clair Obscur in a language foreign to you? What languages would you like to replay the turn based RPG in?
