Early June is the season of game showcases. A time when we inundate ourselves with countless games to fawn over and put on our wishlists. The amazing development of these shows is that there is truly something for every gamer. And me – I like cozy games, so naturally I tuned into the Wholesome Direct. And what should I see but Ambroise Niflette & the Gleaned Bell.
In Ambroise Niflette & the Gleaned Bell, you assume the role of Ambroise, a young detective. Someone has called Ambroise to solve a mystery in the town of Touvoir-en-Thym-et-Pomme. The theft of the Gleaned Bell has thrown the entire village into chaos, as this bell is needed to celebrate an annual festival. Use your wits and guile as young Ambroise to uncover the mystery behind the theft of the Gleaned Bell.
Ambroise will also have at his side his trusty notebook! You’ll need this notebook to gather your testimonies from the other residents of town. Establish alibis, develop motives, and confront those that you doubt. For you Phoenix Wright fans, you’ll find opportunities to cross-examine stories from other townsfolk and find inconsistencies in the stories presented.

Some of the additional details that we know at this time about Ambroise Niflette & the Gleaned Bell:
- 20+ unique characters to interrogate, contradict, and pry on
- EVERYONE is a toy!
- The game has drawn heavy inspiration from stop-motion animation (for you Coraline fans)
Topotes Studio
Ambroise Niflette & the Gleaned Bell is the first project launched from France-based Topotes Studio. Topotes Studio is looking for support via Kickstarter and you can support them here. As of right now, Topotes has only slated the game to be released on PC (Steam).
Rest assured, Gamer Social Club will be continuing to keep their eyes on this project. It’s not like I have already put money towards their Kickstarter campaign.
