What else happened in 2010? The film adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World broke onto the big screen. Now, why are we rambling about a 15-year-old movie? Well, Summer Games Fest 2025, of course! At this June’s Summer Games Fest, Tribute Games Inc. released their trailer for Scott Pilgrim EX, slated for release in 2026.
Tribute Games Inc., best known for their 2022 development of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, is trying their hand with a new IP. Enter Scott Pilgrim EX.
Scott Pilgrim EX will be a new adventure game made in collaboration with Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley. This four-player co-op brawler will be featuring the retro beat’em up vibes with a brand new Scott Pilgrim story. Players will be able to throw hands as Scott, Ramona, as well as five other cast members from the Scott Pilgrim universe. Prepare to face down demons, robots, and other nasty baddies in the reimagined city of Toronto.

Prominently noted in the teaser trailer was the news that Anamanaguchi would be providing a custom soundtrack for the upcoming project. Additionally, pixel artist Paul Robertson will be handling the artistic flair of the game. And lastly, BenDavid Grabinski (Scott Pilgrim Takes Off director) will be providing active consultation of this new venture.
We must note that this will be the second foray into video games within the Scott Pilgrim universe, with the notable prior being the 2010 Ubisoft Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game. Well, here’s something that you may not know (well, at least I didn’t). Tribute Games Inc. touts its founding as a meeting of several former Ubisoft employees and currently employs several veteran developers who work on the 2010 release.
