The highly anticipated Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has officially been delayed. The statement came from a tweet by Skydance Games, the current developer of the game. While originally expected to launch this year, Rise of Hydra is now slated to launch early 2026. The reason cited was for the team to “add more polish and make sure we give you the best possible experience.” Rise of Hydra has been in development for about 4-5 years and was first announced in October 2021.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is an action-adventure game featuring Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of the 1940s. In this original story, the two unlikely allies must come together to stop an emerging threat. Along with Cap and Black Panther, the game also has two other playable characters: Gabriel Jones and Nanali. Gabriel Jones is a US soldier and member of the Howling Commandos. Nanali is a Wakandan spy who is embedded in the city of Paris.
Amy Hennig (Uncharted) is the Co-president of New Media, Skydance Games, she also serves as creative director and lead writer for Marvel 1943. The game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and uses facial animation technology to help create a more authentic performance. Also, in the released statement, they hint we could see some news about the game soon.
With Summer Games Fest around the corner, we may see something there. Never fear, plenty is releasing this week if you’re lost for something to play, including DOOM: The Dark Ages! Make sure you stay tuned to Gamersocialclub.ca for all your gaming news and updates.Â
