Doom: The Dark Ages – All Chapter 8: Abyssal Forest Upgrades & Collectibles

Doom: The Dark Ages is here. The latest shooter in the Doom franchise from iD has a bit of a different feel with its more open world style of levels. Within each level is many different secrets on the form of collectibles, upgrades and other items. This guide will help you with finding all the upgrades and collectibles in Chapter 8: Abyssal Forest.

Ruby #1

Proceed through the level until you obtain the yellow key and open the gate. Head to the next area and defeat a few enemies. Head to the left side of the area and you will see an area where you can drop down. Do so.

Follow this lower path backwards a little bit and you will drop into a secret area with some water. Swim to the other side, take the launcher up and grab the Ruby.

Codex – Abyssal Forest

From the previous collectible return back to the main path. Sticking to the right and a little further up you will see a breakable area you can destroy with a shield charge. In behind is the codex.

Demonic Essence – Armor

Defeating one of the enemies during the large battle after the first shrine will get you the armor upgrade.

Collectible Toy – Witch

After defeating that wave of enemies head back towards where you dropped in from the shrine. To the right of it you will see a looping path which is where you want to go.

Drop down and follow the path into a little area where the toy is enclosed in the middle. What you need to do is look up and in a small gap in one of the walls you will find a chain you can break with your shield saw. Then turn around and see a spot you can throw the shield saw to lift the cage around the toy and let you grab it.

Ruby #2

After using the turret to clear a path look immediately to your left. You will see a broken platform with some gold on it. Jump to it and then jump to another section on the other side. Climb the wall and collect the Ruby.
