Doom The Dark Ages – Chapter 1 Village Of Khalim Collectibles Guide

Doom: The Dark Ages is here. The latest shooter in the Doom franchise from iD has a bit of a different feel with its more open world style of levels. Within each level is many different secrets on the form of collectibles, upgrades and other items. This guide will help you with finding all the collectibles in Chapter 1: Village Of Khalim.

Before we dive into the guide, each level has Life Sigils. These Life Sigils grant you the ability to revive yourself. Without them if you die the mission ends and you revert back to a checkpoint. They don't count as a collectible so we won't be covering them here, but if you see one they are worth picking up.

Chapter 1 has 5 collectibles to grab. Also because it is the tutorial mission there are no upgrades in chapter 1. So without further delay let's just into the collectibles.

Collectible Toy #1 – Imp

As soon as you collect the blue key and shield smash your way out, turn around 180 degrees and head back. You will see a blue door on your right which you can now open and inside will be a collectible toy.

Codex Entry #1 – Doom Slayer

After closing one of the portals (for me it was the third one) if you look in behind it you will see a codex high up on a rock formation. Head to the right of it and climb up a couple sections to reach the codex and collect it.

Weapon Skin #1

You will likely see this skin on your map and wonder how to get it. It is actually below a level. You will need to find the booster that will help propel you over towards the purple key, or head that way on the other path. Either way you will end up on a piece of the land that jets out, near where you obtain the shredder.

Look down below from here to see a secret area which you can jump down to. Inside will be a million exploding barrels and the weapon skin. Defeat a couple enemies and grab the weapon skin.

Collectible Toy #2 – Soldier

Just past where you obtain the shredder head past it towards the ocean. You will see a little space where there is no fence. Simply jump down below to a path that will lead to the next collectible toy.

Codex Entry #2 – Village Of Khalim

After clearing the beach you will head towards the exit of the chapter down a little corridor between rocks. Instead of going left towards the exit look to your right to see an area to climb. At the top will be the codex.
