Doom: The Dark Ages is here. The latest shooter in the Doom franchise from iD has a bit of a different feel with its more open world style of levels. Within each level is many different secrets on the form of collectibles, upgrades and other items. This guide will help you with finding all the upgrades and collectibles in Chapter 10: The Forsaken Plains.
Codex – The Forsaken Plains
Progress through the mission until you get through the first big gate. Make a right and head to the first shrine you see. From the shrine go right again and head through the area watching for the traps. After you get through the trap section look right to find some gold and the codex.
Ruby #1
From the codex return the way you came. When the big spike trap falls jump on top of it and ride it up. At the top jump off to find the first Ruby.
Demonic Essence – Armor
Move forward now with past the shrine and defeat the first little mini boss to obtain the health upgrade.
Demonic Essence – Ammo
After destroying the first hell cannon continue further right to the far edge of the map. Climb up and destroy the nest for part of your challenge and defeat the wave of enemies. The final enemy will have the upgrade. This is an optional fight so make sure to grab this one.
Weapon Skin
Take the launcher back to where the hell cannon was. Upon la dung look to your right and go back up the stairs again. This time take a left and find the weapon skin.
Purple Key
From the second shrine near the wraithstone head all the way to the top of the map where you will find the purple key locked away. Look to the right of the key and up to find a chain to shield saw.
From there look to the left and behind the area to a shield recall jump area.
Follow this area to the end and as soon as you get to the end where there's an opening look to your right to find an area to climb. Jump over and do the climb then fall into the tower that contains the key.
Ruby #2
After obtaining the key head back away from the area and turn right. You will see a purple gate to open and go inside. Destroy the nest and complete the fight. After you've done so head back out and the Ruby will now be free and you can grab it.
Collectible Toy – Cyberdemon
Go right from the purple gate/Ruby and you will see a launcher just below this area. Take it and it will launch you directly to the toy.
Codex #2 – Prince Azhrak
After taking the portal back from the previous collectible make a right once you land and then take your first possible right towards the middle of the map. Once in the bigger open area make a left and you will eventually see a tank to defeat. Near the tank is some stairs to go up leading to a purple gate.
Open the gate and head inside and obtain the codex.
Demonic Essence – Health
Go ahead now and destroy the second hell cannon. The battle before it you will defeat the mini boss and obtain the upgrade.
Ruby #3
After destroying the cannon leave this area but hug the left side as you do. You will notice an area with a purple gate once again. Open it and at the end of this area will be the last Ruby of the chapter.
Wraithstone
Now head back to the second shrine and enter the area behind it now that it has opened up. Defeat the wave of enemies and grab the core as per the mission. Once you've done so you can turn around and grab the wraithstone that was in this area.
That should be your final thing that you needed. You can now head to the end of the chapter and we will see you in chapter 11!
