We’re just over one month away from the Xbox Summer Showcase and Outer Wilds 2 Direct and hype is growing amongst fans of Microsoft’s gaming box. Xbox have traditionally hosted a FanFest which coincides with the summer showcase, enabling Xbox gamers to get together and watch the big summer event together.
Previously, Xbox confirmed that there will be no in-person FanFest for the 2025 Summer Showcase. Instead they’re planning an in-person 10th anniversary FanFest for later this year: “This year’s show is digital-only. While we will not have a community viewing event for the Showcase, we are working on plans for the 10th anniversary celebration of Xbox FanFest! We look forward to sharing more details with you at a later date, after the Showcase.“. More information about the official 10th anniversary plans will be posted on Xbox FanFest’s official website in due course.
However, that’s not stopped Xbox fans planning their own in-person watch party in Los Angeles. There will be games, giveaways and special guests from the Xbox community. More information about what’s in store and to enter the raffle for a ticket, Xbox fans should head over to the Community Fan Fest website: https://communityfanfest.com/. The raffle is open to US residents ages 18+ only and closes soon.
With plenty of first party games anticipated to feature at the Showcase including Gears of War: E-Day, the Fable reboot which was recently delayed until 2026 and of course The Outer Wilds 2, there is plenty to be excited for. It’s now not long to wait to see if we will get updates on long in development games like Perfect Dark, Contraband or the excellent looking Clockwork Revolution.
