While Monster Hunter Wilds has come roaring out the gates with fantastic review scores and massive player numbers, it hasn’t been a flawless launch. The PC performance has been subpar and there’s been some big bugs. Thankfully tomorrow a patch will go out to address some of these things.
The Monster Hunter status X account sent out a post today confirming that tomorrow we will see a patch to address many issues. Among those issues are a game breaking bug in Chapter 5-2 “A World Turned Upside Down”.
“Heads up, hunters: an update is planned to go live on all platforms at 12am PST / 8am GMT on March 4th with fixes for issues with the Ingredient Center, Grill a Meal and story progression in Chapter 5-2 “A World Turned Upside Down” the statement reads.
“Once the update is out, any online sessions will be discontinued and you will need to update to continue playing online.”

This announcement comes after yesterday the team said they are aware of the game breaking issue in chapter 5-2 in which an NPC won’t show up making it impossible to progress.
Despite this issue Monster Hunter Wilds is smashing records on Steam where the game peaked at nearly 1.4 million concurrent users. That number made it the 5th highest ever in Steams history. It appears to be doing well on Xbox & PlayStation as well.
It’s unclear just how much this patch will help with all the performance issues, particularly on PC. That right now seems to be what most want addressed. It makes sense though that the devs would want to fix game breaking issues first.
With the update tomorrow kicking everyone off the game in order to load the patch in it may be best to avoid the game momentarily around that time. Have you experienced this bug? Let us know below!
