The Warsong Update Arrives in Hades II

Hades II may still be in early access, but Supergiant Games has just dropped a massive update. Appropriately named The Warsong Update, Ares finally makes his appearance to assist his niece as she kills time itself. Or does he? How is it that Eris of all people sees his cause as one to get behind?

This update also means the surface path is complete. The trailer boasts you can conquer two full-length runs as of this update. Make it to the surface of Olympus to see what is really happening above ground. New foes have been included as well as new music in the form of singing with Artemis. Isn’t it nice to have some casual downtime with friends? Melinoe also can find a new animal familiar as she ascends Mount Olympus or dives deeper into the underworld. If you're missing certain characters from Hades, you may find reminders of them in the Arcana deck before heading out on your journey.Â

The Warsong Update includes new side events and more to learn about these characters. Can we learn the mystery behind who Skelly is? Who is this final boss that we will fight at the top of Mount Olympus? Is there some way to save Hades from his fate? Can you reclaim the throne from Chronos and stop whatever he has planned?

Since the game is still in early access, you can still expect to see some placeholders through your runs. Circe still has a placeholder when you meet her topside, although once you speak to her you will see the artwork currently set for her.Â The good news is that the game feels like it has had more than just a fresh coat of paint added. Hades II has already come a long way from the technical tests we covered in April 2024. With new characters, refreshed sprites, and boons being revamped and introduced, Hades II is well on its way to being a polished masterpiece. You can read the full patch notes here.
