Fellow Overwatch enthusiasts – changes are coming to the world of Overwatch 2 in 2025! In an announcement from Blizzard, Overwatch 2 will be undergoing many "groundbreaking" changes to the PVP experience this coming year. What does this mean for you? New heroes – new maps – and even more new content, coming this February and throughout the year!
Blizzard’s normal approach to updates has been in the form of blogs and developer updates. This time, however, Blizzard stated that these changes are going to take more than a simple post online. On February 12th, 2025 at 10:00 AM Pacific Time, Blizzard has invited all Heroes to tune in to both their YouTube and Twitch channels for a livestream event – the Overwatch 2 Spotlight!
Blizzard reported that dozens of Overwatch 2 Content Creators have been invited to Blizzard headquarters in Irvine, California. They will have the chance to livestream some of the gameplay that will be featured in the Overwatch 2 Spotlight. Coupled with these sneak peeks, viewers will be able to pick up the Legendary Cyber DJ Lucio Skin. This skin will be an exclusive drop that can be earned for watching an hour of one of these creators' streams.
Blizzard reported that there will be future announcements regarding the specific content creators that will be joining for the Overwatch 2 Spotlight in February. Be sure to keep an eye out for this update!
In preparation of this exciting event, be sure to link your Twitch or YouTube account to your Battle.net account. Then tune in to either the Twitch or YouTube official Overwatch channels on February 12th for the Overwatch 2 Spotlight.
