“Tactician” is another challenge in Sniper Elite: Resistance, the newest entry into the famous sniping franchise. Taking place at the same time as the events of Sniper Elite 5, you play the role of Captain Harry Hawker, a British sniper who’s working with the French resistance to stop the latest Nazi Wunderwaffe.

Of course, the game’s all about sniping, skilled shots and causing the most damage and pain to some Nazi scum. In this guide, we’re looking at getting one of the Fritz’s armoured tanks to to destroy another enemy vehicle, and we get an achievement and a fair bit of XP too.

I did the “Tactician” achievement on Mission 8 – End of the Line. This is the final main mission ahead of taking on the antagonist, Kruger. This is the same level you can get “Tanks for Nothing” achievement for destroying the tank we’re about to put to use.

Tactician Tactics

The two vehicles you need are both on the right hand side of the map. The truck we want to be destroyed circles the bottom half of the map, stopping in two places on its route. The tank is further up, but will follow you once it’s spotted you.

I advise taking out all patrolling enemies, steathily and quietly (not the two in the truck of course). This means there’s less chance of being spotted and jeopardising your achievement attempt.

Once you’ve cleared out the enemies, get the attention of the tank and run towards where truck will come up the road towards you. As the tank fires its cannon, it should fly past you (keep moving of course, serpentine Harry, serpentine!!!). With any luck the truck will be hit and explode!

I tried this before, blowing up a stationary truck with no enemies and it didn’t pop. Although in my video, the two guards vacate the truck just before it explodes (because they also spotted me). In this instance, that didn’t seem to matter, so it could be down to how long after the enemies leave vehicle for it to still count.
