The developers working on the sequel to the 2013 narrative hit The Wolf Among Us have had to release a statement, after a rumour began circulating that the sequel was in jeopardy of being cancelled.
Originating from a Reddit user, the rumour claimed that the the game and dev team were at a “critical point where they might have no choice but to shelve it.” This spread across social media and was picked up and reported on by a number of news outlets. This is no doubt what led to Telltale Games’ decision to put out a statement.

The statement, shared by a PR representative with Eurogamer, says “As a rule, we don’t comment on rumours and unsubstantiated reddit threads… But development on The Wolf Among Us 2 continues and we’re excited to share more about the game with Telltale fans and our community when the time is right.”
This wasn’t always the case for The Wolf Among Us 2, and even the studio itself. After being initially announced back in 2017, Telltale Games faced significant layoffs, which ultimately led to the studio’s closure in 2018.
In just under a year, and much to everyone’s surprise, Telltale Games was back and under new management. Not olny was this a second chance for Telltale but also for The Wolf Among Us 2, which was re-announced in pre-production.

Set in the world of Bill Williamson’s Fables comic series, The Wolf Among Us has the player take on the role of Bigsby Wolf P.I. as he tries to solve a grisly murder in a brilliant re-imagining of classic fairy tales Fingers crossed. With choice driven gameplay that has become synonymous with Telltale Games, fans will no doubt be relieved to know that The Wolf Among Us 2 is still set to have its fairy tale ending.
