Ryu Ga Gotoku sure knows how to churn out massive games quickly don't they? Today the studio along with publisher Sega announced the next game in the Like A Dragon franchise, Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii, and it's coming sooner than you might think.
The announcement came during the RGG summit that took place earlier today. We had already known they were going to show off the next Like A Dragon game after they teased it earlier this year and now we know. Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is a spin off of the main series and sees Goro wash up on the shore of Rich Island. Goei can't remember who is he or why he is there. Goro has been a character seen throughout the Like A Dragon series but this is his first time as a lead character. Pirate Yakuza's events take place after the most recent game in the series, Infinite Wealth.

Based on the trailer Pirate Dragon appears to be leaving the turn based combat that is so beloved in the series for a more action based combat, slashing your way through pirates with your trusty pirate sword. There's also a lot of pirate ships featured in the trailer and it really gives off Assassin's Creed Black Flag vibes. Whether there will be actual Naval combat though remains to be seen.
Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is not that far off either, launching next year, on February 28th. It will launch across Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
