Over the past year Embracer Group has been selling off or closing many of its studios. Earlier this year it announced that Saber Interactive was being bought out by Beacon Interactive. The deal was meant to include 4A Games however now that the deal has been completed that is no longer the case.
In a statement today by Embracer Group's CEO Lars Wingefors the company says the transaction between Beacon and Embracer is now complete ahead of schedule. Beacon paid 168.4 million US early and will pay an additional 28.1 million later. However the deal will see 4A Games, known for the popular Metro series is no longer apart of the deal. Zen Studios, the makers of Pinball FX will also now remain with Embracer.

"We are satisfied with the conclusion of this transactionand very glad to see the great teams and assets of 4A Games and Zen Studios remain within Embracer. They will be important building blocks in our continued journey. 4A Games has currently two AAA titles under development that we eagerly await to announce."
Imdeed 4A games is quite busy. They have the upcoming Metro Awakening coming soon to VR platforms as well as an unannounced 3rd game in the mainline Metro series. The second AAA title is more of a mystery however.
As for Saber Interactive, they just recently released the hugely successful Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 which had already sold 2 million copies just days after its early access release. As per our own review the game is a must play for third person shooter fans.
