Space Marine 2 may have just officially released yesterday but it’s already seeing some impressive sales as gamers rush to join the fight for the Emperor.

Focus Entertainment today revealed that the game has already surpassed 2 million players just one day after release. While they use player count instead of sales the game is only available for purchase so it likely has sold that many as well.

This is undoubtedly a huge success for both Focus and the Warhammer franchise in general. Space Marine 2 is a sequel to the 2011 original meaning it took 13 years between releases as well as a new developer and publisher.

Space Marine 2 has a ton of updates and new content expected to come to the game post launch but these early sales could suggest we don’t have to wait nearly as long for a third game in the Space Marine universe.
