Day 2 of Gamescom 2024 is well underway, and it’s a big day for indie game fans! Don’t worry if you missed the stream though, here at Gamer Social Club we have a rundown of all the announcements!
Pets & Stuff VR
From the team over at HyperVR games, Pets & Stuff is a VR game where you take on the role of a pet groomer, and look after a host of adorable fuzzy friends. Already available on Meta Quest, the team announced the game will be coming soon to Steam and Playstation VR.
Yes, Your Grace: Snowfall
The sequel to Brave at Night’s wonderful Yes, Your Grace. The new trailer for Snowfall sees players taking on the role of the Queen after the death of King Eryk. Long live the Queen
Wilmot Works it Out
Coming to PC on October 23rd, Wilmot Works it Out is a cute, cosy puzzler about making gorgeous images. From devs Hollow Ponds and Richard Hogg (who’s art style is clear to see in the trailer), this looks like a must have for cosy gamers.
Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders
From the team over at Megagon Industries, comes Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders a skiing game where you can play alone or with friends as you explore the stunning slopes.
Altered Alma
Highly anticipated metroidvania, Altered Alma announced that a demo would be dropping this September. Get ready to dive into Neo Barcelona and indulge in stylish combat, slick combat and dating sim romances.
SULFUR
Badging itself as an old-school action-adventure game, SULFUR looks like a wild ride! Hunt for treasure, upgrade your weapons and take down your enemies as you delve deeper into the depths. Check out the demo here!
The Nameless: Slay Dragon
The Nameless: Slay Dragon is a turn based RPG from the one man Nameless Sword Studio. You play as a young man and his friends as they adventure around on their quest to slay a dragon.
Mouthwashing
Join the crew of a shipwrecked space freighter in first person horror title Mouthwashing. This surreal sci-fi horror also currently has a demo on Steam.
The Berlin Apartment
Explore a collection of short stories about the occupants of an old Berlin apartment. You play as a handyman renovating said apartment, as you discover the lives of it’s past inhabitants.
Tavern Keeper
Releasing on November 5th into early access (and with a demo currently on Steam) Tavern Keeper is a fantasy business sim where you run your own Tavern. Upgrade your business and keep up with unlikely lives of your regulars in an interactive story book.
Mika and the Witch’s Mountain
Exciting news for cosy gamers as Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is available TODAY! Play as Mika delivering items to the inhabitants of your small island in this Ghibli-esque adventure game.
Royal Revolt Warriors
Another title with a demo available on Steam, Royal Revolt Warriors is a top down co-op survival game. Team up with your friends to hack and slash your way through hordes of monsters in this brand new roguelite.
Go Go Town!
The latest game from the team over at Prideful Sloth, Go Go Town! is a town building and management game. Hire new staff and automate your town then take some time to relax!
Deathbound
Released earlier this month, Deathbound is a party based Soulslike set in a post apocalyptic medieval world. You can check out our full review of the title here!
#DRIVE Rally
Grab your co-driver for this new arcade rally title. Set in the 90s, this fantastic looking title enters early access on the 25th of September.
Drill Core
You may know devs Hungry Couch Games from their 2021 open world skypunk title Black Skylands. They’re back with Drill Core, a roguelite exploration and colony sim where you direct your miners by day and fight off alien monsters by night.
ZERO Sievert
Set in a post apocalyptic wasteland, ZERO Sievert is a top down shooter where you need to fight, scavenge and explore in order to survive. Launching November 15th.
Fruitbus
A wholesome cooking game, where you forage for ingredients, cook delicious dishes and travel around in the aforementioned Fruitbus to deliver your wares to the cute animals of the world.
Fera: The Sundered Tribes
A mix of monster hunting, settlement building and aerial traversal; Fera: The Sundered Tribes is a survival RPG from the team over at Massive Damage, Inc.
Grimoire Groves
A new spin on the roguelite dungeon crawler, Grimoire Groves sets itself apart with it’s decidedly cosy vibes. From the game’s Kickstarter “you’ll play as a young witch who grows cute plant creatures and discovers the secrets of the Grimoire Groves”.
Paraside: Duality Unbound
A unique take on the strategy RPG genre, Paraside: Duality Unbound lets you manipulate and flip between dimensions to unleash devastating attacks as you fight for the hope of humanity.
Everspace 2: Titans
Coming on September 16th, the devs of Everspace 2 showed off a deep dive into the Leviathan of the new Titans DLC. Carefully navigate through the monstrous Leviathan as you battle enemies and search for resources.
Wild Indigo Ranch
A cosy multiplayer RPG, Wild Indigo Ranch is currently in Early Access. Build your own ranch and explore the frontier, alone or with friends! Demo here.
Endzone 2
Described by PCGamer as Fallout meets FrostPunk, Endzone 2 is a post apocalyptic colony builder, where you try and rebuild society after a series of natural disasters. Launching August 26th.
Eldritch Empathy
My personal pick of the showcase! Eldritch Empathy has you researching eldritch horrors and choosing to either unravel their mysteries or banish them. Choose wisely, the fate of humanity is in your hands.
Squirrel with a Gun
Launching later this month (29th of August), play as the titular Squirrel in his quest for the golden acorns. a mix between sandbox shooter and puzzle platformer, traverse the world taking down agents from a secret underground facility.
Cactus
You gotta love indie games. You’re never going to see a AAA boomer shooter where you play as a Cactus. Fight off hordes of lizards in the wacky first person shooter! Coming March 2025
Cairn
Cairn is a realistic climbing sim from the team over at The Game Bakers. Managing your pitons and other resources is key as you guide Aava to the summit of Mount Kami.
Solarpunk
Planning to release in 2025, Solarpunk is a survival game set on a series of floating islands. Play alone, or team up with friends as you farm, craft and explore the gorgeous world.
