Allllll the showcases!!!!! This time we’re looking at all the announcements, “galaxy wide premieres”, and reveals from the Future of Play Direct which is described as “a harmless showcase and collection of games that’s fun for the whole family”. Hosted by V-Tuber Melios, let’s have a look at what was shown off.
Abyss X Zero (PC)
Venture out into an expansive world in ABYSS X ZERO, a 3D Metroidvania teeming with carefully crafted dungeons and low-poly visuals. Inspired by classic games of the 32 and 64 bit generation, ABYSS X ZERO lets you control two different characters destined to battle each other. See Codename A and Codename Z’s unique abilities in action in this new ABYSS X ZERO trailer.
Zodiac XX: LEO (Platforms TBA)
Worldwide exclusive trailer revealing never-before-seen footage from Zodiac XX: Leo, a bold, bright, retro futuristic game releasing later this year.
Battle Suit Aces (PC)
Lead a plucky crew against a star-consuming threat in Battle Suit Aces, a character-driven, card battling RPG from the creators of Battle Chef Brigade. Prepare to recruit ace pilots and head out on over 50 missions as you upgrade your mecha battle suits and captain your very own personalized sci-fi saga. All Systems Dance (PC)
Embark on a dance battle adventure in All Systems Dance. Help liberate fellow citizens of a consumption-obsessed, corporate dystopia by connecting moves and feeling the music. Automation is not the answer; dance is the key to disruption!
Yooka-Replaylee (PC and consoles)
Previously revealed at the Guerrilla Collective showcase earlier this week, Yooka-Re-playlee is a remastered and enhanced version of the 2017 platformer. Read more about it in our article on the announcement. More details will be unveiled at a Playtonic Games Q&A on YouTube 11 June.
Nova Hearts (Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation and Xbox)
Follow Luce and her crew as they search for answers to the mysterious cosmic force that has turned them, and others, into powerful superheroes and villains. Explore a variety of romantic connections with the cast of hot singles in your area, fight beasts from an alternate dimension, and more in this turn-based combat dating adventure.
A Date with Death (PC)
You have one week to stop the Grim Reaper from taking your soul… or die trying. Compete against and romance the one hunting for your soul in A Date with Death, a romance chat simulator where you date(?) the Grim Reaper himself. Create your own character, decorate your apartment, and chat away with the charming yet dangerous Grim Reaper through text and video calls. Just try not to lose your soul along the way?
It releases on 9 December 2024.
LOK Digital (PC)
LOK Digital is a whimsical puzzle adventure game where you discover magical words and use their special abilities to change the world around you. Learn and spell the words of the LOK creatures to bring them to life and expand their world, but remember that they can only live on black tiles.
A demo is available until 24 June.
Croakwood (PC)
Design towns and encourage the growth of a charming community of tiny frogs in Croakwood, a new town-building simulation game. Manage your economy as the townsfolk source and craft resources, meet new creatures, unlock different structures, and much more in Texel Raptor’s upcoming sim.
Cozy Marbles (PC)
Cozy Marbles is a building simulation and physics sandbox game where you construct marble runs. You’re free to experiment, from creating short tracks to big, intricate marble races.
Phoenix Springs (PC)
Also shown at the Day of the Devs Summer Game Fest Edition showcase, Phoenix Springs is a modern point-and-click adventure game where your inventory is a detective’s mind map of leads and clues. It’s up to you to talk to people and make connections as you solve this mystery.
It releases on 16 September 2024.
REKA (PC)
Build your very own giant hut with chicken legs, practice witchcraft, and uncover the mystery of the legendary Baba Jaga in REKA.

Sandara: City of a Thousand Eclipses (PC)
A new story-driven roleplaying deck-builder set in a desolate desert where survival hinges on strategic card management.
Airborne Empire (PC)
Explore a vast landscape and meticulously construct your city in the sky, but bear in mind that you’ll need to manage lift, balance, and propulsion as you build. Defend your inhabitants and uncover new technologies and treasures.

Dungeon Clawler (Mobile and PC)
Also shown at the Guerrilla Collective show, Dungeon Clawler is an upcoming roguelike claw machine deckbuilder game. The trailer gives us a look at combat and gameplay, including two new characters in action. Build your unique deck, fight enemies by grabbing weapons and items from a claw machine and find special artifacts that help you on your quest to reclaim something you lost… Aim carefully to claw your way through this dungeon!

N.O.D.E (PC)
Set in an abandoned Soviet nuclear plant, you must plan a route for your robot without having direct control of it. Set up sequences of commands and execute them to reach each checkpoint.
A demo will be released this month, the game is expected to release Q2 of 2025.
Copycat (Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series)
A narrative-driven video game about belonging, rejection, and the meaning of home. From developer Spoonful of Wonder, Copycat follows the story of a newly adopted shelter cat who becomes the victim of an elaborate plan when a jealous, stray copycat steals her place in the household.
It will release on PC in September 2024. Consoles will follow later.
Light Odyssey (PC)
Another one shown at the Guerrilla Collective, in Light Odyssey, you explore the ruins of an ancient fallen civilization, challenge the Colossus, and fight to restore light to the world, in this boss-rush action game.
Psychroma (PC)
Shown at the Day of the Devs Summer Game Fest edition showcase, Psychroma is a narrative-driven side-scroller game where you play as a digital medium. Piece together the broken memories of a cybernetic house, and exorcize the ghosts in the machine.
It launches on 11 June 2024, a demo is available now.
Slay the Princess: The Pristine Cut (Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation, Xbox)
The definitive edition of Slay the Princess is here. Including three brand-new chapters, expansions to existing ones, and a new ending. It’s due to release in Fall 2024.
Physical editions for PS5 and Nintendo Switch were also announced, including a Collector’s Edition with a 7inch Princess Statue amongst other things.
Echo Generation: Midnight Edition (Nintendo Switch, PC)
Echo Generation is a turn-based adventure game with a supernatural twist. Strange things are afoot in Maple Town: A mysterious crash leads you on a spooky adventure through your hometown. Battle monsters, complete quests and unearth secrets to reveal a conspiracy that transcends time.
It launches on 19 July 2024.
Rooster (PC and consoles)
Rooster is a story-rich casual puzzle adventure game developed by Sticky Brain Studios. Players will explore a hand-drawn world with filled with a variety of activities from cooking, finding hidden objects, paper crafting, and more to tell a rewarding tale about love and family.
Aiming to release in Q1 2025.
ALZARA Radiant Echoes (PC and consoles)
In Alzara Radiant Echoes, players explore a fantasy Mediterranean archipelago in a world on the brink of war.
It is aiming to release in 2026, you can back the game on Kickstarter now.
Timberborn (PC)
Timberborn is a city-building video game developed and published by Mechanistry. Players help a colony of beavers survive resource shortages. Timberborn is currently available in PC early access.
Bubblegum Galaxy (PC)
In Bubblegum Galaxy, discover and design new planets, complete missions, explore your office and befriend your co-workers… all while trying to find out who deleted the galaxy!

Margin of the Strange (PC)

Rose and Locket (PC)
Join Rose, a gunslinging mother fueled by devotion and vengeance, on a journey to free her daughter’s soul from a mysterious silver locket. Ra Ra Boom (PC, Xbox)
Ra Ra Boom follows a team of ninja cheerleaders from space fighting to save the Earth from AI robots gone rogue in this four-player co-op beat ’em up game.
Genokids (PC)
A bizarre music band named Genokids is rocking one of their best concerts to date when The Infinite Empire of Zenodia decides to invade Earth and assimilate mankind, landing right on top of the band and ruining both their concert and mood.
Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip (PC)
Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip is an exploration adventure game developed by snekflat. Players will embody Terry with a dream to launch himself into space using his brand-new car. Explore the town and make questionable stunts and jumps to prepare for take-off to humanity’s last frontier.
