Sea Of Thieves Sails Past 40 Million Player Mark

With Sea Of Thieves set to launch on PlayStation soon Rare has announced a major milestone for the game, as they’ve now seen 40 million players play the game on Xbox & PC.

In a blog post by Sea of Thieves Executive Producer Joe Neate, Neate talks about the tremendous feat:

“As I’m sure you can imagine, when it comes to Sea of Thievesmy days are full of numbers. Development costs, active servers, days until the next update… Sometimes, though, a truly extraordinary number stands out _ a number like 40 million, which I’m incredibly pleased to say is the number of pirates who’ve now set sail in Sea of Thieves!”

While Sea of Thieves may have had a bit of a rocky start when it launched a generation ago Rare has certainly turned it into one of the premiere franchises in gaming today.

Congrats to the team at Rare and let’s see how many more raise their sales when the game comes to PlayStation.
