Despite launching at the beginning of the Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5 generation back in 2020, Ubisoft is still bringing updates to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Today Valhalla received another update, “The Most Requested Update”, which brings New Game+, as well as a slew of new content and updates.
As mentioned, the biggest addition here is the New Game+ mode. New Game+ has become a feature in most RPG games these days, so it is no surprise that Assassin’s Creed fans have been clamoring for it in Valhalla. That Ubisoft actually did it for a nearly 7-year-old game is a testament to their teams.
Players can access New Game+ once they complete the Holy Day quest, which is the last quest in the Hamtunscire region. New Game+ allows players to bring along with them their previously earned gear and progression. Each time players decide to use New Game+, the game will grow more difficult. Considering how long Valhalla is, clocking in at 50+ hours for most, I can’t see them doing multiple rounds of the game, but you never know!

A new addition to the end game and New Game+ with Valhalla is Mithril. Mithril is a new resource within New Game+ and is earned any time a player picks up a piece of gear or book they already had from a previous run. Mithril is needed to upgrade items to Divine quality, as well as letting Divine Gear level up to level 27. These upgrades were previously available in the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC, but will now be available to all.
Enhanced Progression Mode & Other Additions
The Most Requested update also sees a new mode added as well. Enhanced Progression Mode is an optional mode that makes your gear, runes and masteries contribute to your power score. With this mode turned on you can find more difficult challenges on top of better rewards.
Another new addition is the Stash system, a new way to organize your gear and runes. The stash will be found in Ravensthorpe, allowing you to keep anything in your inventory stashed away.
Lastly, at least when it comes to the big new additions, is that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is joining the Animus Hub beginning today. This allows players to see their progress across the many Assassin’s Creed games in the hub, and earn rewards for your progress.
Overall, these are just some of the many new additions to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that are out with this update. It truly is a massive update that is worth checking out for Valhalla fans.
