As if February 2027 wasn’t looking busy enough for game releases, one of the worlds biggest MMO’s will now get its next big expansion has added to the busy time. Today during the FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival 2026 in Tokyo, we got fresh details about Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold, including its release date and collector’s box details.
Let’s start off with the release date announcement. Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold will launch February 23rd 2027 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, XBOX Series X|S, Nintendo Switch™ 2 and Steam. Evercold is the latest expansion, following in the footsteps of Dawntrail that released July 2nd 2024. During the announcement Square Enix also announced that the MMO is up to 35 million players in it’s lifespan.
With the announcement of the release date we also got a new look at the second job announced for the game, Zephyr. A physical ranged DPS, Zephyr joins the fray using a combination of crossbow shots and support from an avian familiar known as Nephele. We got to see a trailer showcasing gameplay with the new job.
Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold Collector’s Bundle & Box Details Revealed
Of course these weren’t the only announcements as we got more info about the previously announced collector’s edition for Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold, and there are 3 different options. The differences in the versions are quite confusing if I’m honest.
The Evercold Collector’s Box will be available for pre-order beginning Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. PDT at retailers, however it will not include the game. The Bundle version will be only available on the Square Enix store and will include everything in the box version as well as the game for the platform of your choice in code form.
There is also the digital collector’s edition which only includes the game and in-game items. The 2 physical collector’s editions however will not contain any of the in-game items other than the normal pre-order bonuses.
Players who pre-order FINAL FANTASY XIV: Evercold from participating retailers will be eligible to receive the following bonuses:
- Early Access – Early access is tentatively scheduled to begin on Friday, Feb. 19, 2027 at 1:00 a.m. (PDT) and will allow users to play Evercold ahead of the official release.
- In-game Item: Halone’s Earring – This useful earring features attributes that will vary according to the user’s class/job and current level when equipped. Additionally, the earring grants a 30% increase in EXP gained by defeating enemies when worn, perfect for leveling your jobs to 100.
- In-game Item: Wind-Up Köttr Minion
Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold Collector’s Box – $255USD
The Evercold Collector’s Box includes the physical goods listed below and does not include a copy of Evercold, in-game items, or pre-order bonuses.
- Evercold Special Art Box – featuring an Evercold illustration by artist Yoshitaka Amano.
