Celtic-Inspired JRPG Forge Of The Fae Settles On A Release Window

Last week, the story-rich pixel art JRPG Forge of the Fae, developed by Datadyne LLC and published by Deck13, got a new trailer announcing the game’s release window. The game is aiming for a March 2027 release on PC and consoles.

Check out the Forge of the Fae release window trailer below.

Inspired by classic JRPGs and 19th-century Ireland, Forge of the Fae follows Fiora and her friends on a journey across a mystical world to solve a series of disappearances. Tensions are high, with the Mining Company hiring mercenaries to crush the miners’ strike, but it’s not enough to deter our heroes from finding answers.

Immerse yourself in a world of ancient Celtic folklore, full of monsters to battle, secrets to uncover, and colourful characters to meet along your journey, and watch how your actions shape its future. Upgrade Fiora’s loyal Mechanical Faerie and harness the ARC Crystal System to unlock paths, reveal secrets, and channel powerful Fae magic, each one influencing the world around you and the fate of your story.

Packed with environmental puzzles, secrets, and optional discoveries scattered throughout its world, many of which lead to powerful items or hidden lore, there is a lot of side content for players to dig into, with the dev team trying to create an experience that encourages exploration and rewards players with powerful items and hidden lore.

Forge of the Fae’s combat is a perfect example of the game’s blend of nostalgic charm and modern design, offering players modern, dynamic turn-based battles with various systems that synergise with each other.

Forge of the Fae Combat Features:

  • Combo Abilities: Pair a skill with a spell to unlock powerful new effects.
  • The ARC (Crystal System): Align skills and magic to build your own battle style.
  • Adrenaline Surges: Unleash special abilities that don’t consume turns, adding another layer of strategy.
  • Classic elements, modern flow: Exploit enemy weaknesses with fire, wind, water, earth, nature, and arcane magic in quick battles that never feel dated.

We don’t have a release date for Forge of the Fae yet, so be sure to check back here at the GSC for more news about this upcoming JRPG in the future.

Forge of the Fae releases in March 2027 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 1, and Switch 2. A demo is available now on PC via Steam.
