If, like me, you’re excited for the return of rhythm-based plastic controller nights in with some cracking rock songs, then you’ll have your eye on Stage Tour. And if you don’t, you really should!
The spiritual successor to games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero lands on 10 December 2026 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles, and the series is back with a bang! Not only are we getting a new Guitar Hero like game, all the plastic peripherals are also going to be available too. That’s the guitars, microphones, and the much-requested return of the drum kit!
As we gear up for the release of Stage Tour, developers RedOctane Games, are releasing regular track reveals and building the hype as we get closer to the 10 December launch date. They’ve just dropped a new trailer that takes me back to the late 2000s.
Check out the ‘Play Your Way’ trailer below:
Not only does the trailer ooze the nostalgia of getting your mates round and having ‘Rock Band nights’ it also shows of that you can play however you would like to get the most from the game. You can use the aforementioned plastic instrument peripherals, a game controller, or a gaming keyboard to play!
Stage Tour will have over 90 officially licensed songs including Muse, Slipknot, Red Hot Chili Peppers, blink-182 and many more. You’ll also be able to unlock loads of customisation options for your in-game instruments and band members. There’s also going to be a roguelite ‘tour mode’ where you will have a range of new choices, challenges and opportunities every time you play!
With Rock Band 4’s DLCs continuing to evaporate from digital existence, it fills my heart that these types of games aren’t dead, in fact, it looks like Stage Tour is going to hit all the right notes!
Stage Tour launches 10 December 2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
