Since its reveal at the Xbox Games Showcase late last year, the GSC team have been keeping close tabs on Agni: Village of Calamity. A further trailer back in May which confirmed a 2026 release, reinforced the game’s heavy influences from the likes of horror icons, Resident Evil, Silent Hill and even Alan Wake.
At the Autumn 2026 Galaxies Showcase, a new trailer for the title was shared which shows lead heroin, Agni getting pretty trigger heavy as she battles through the nightmarish location of Desa Purba.
Deeply supernatural, Village of Calamity is inspired by Indonesian slasher horror movies. Investigator, Agni seriously kicks some ass in the latest footage as she uses abilities alongside plenty of firepower to take out some of the wicked beasts of the forest.
This new trailer has solidified Agni as being one of my most anticipated games for the remainder of the year, in what has already been an incredible year for horror games.
Agni: Village of Calamity will launch later this year on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). A full release date is yet to be confirmed.
