As we await the next batch of Xbox Game Pass announcements next week, we have learned what will be leaving the service mid October, including 1 major title.
In fact there are multiple big games leaving the service this month, but none are bigger than Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The consensus Game of the Year for 2025, including our own, the hit game from Sandfall Interactive certainly left it’s mark on the industry.
A big part of the games success was the word of mouth it got from being on Xbox Game Pass. Most big games that launch day 1 on the service only stay in it about a year, so Clair Obscur actually got a bit of an extended run in the service.
Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass October 15th
- A Plague Tale: Requiem
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
- Crime Scene Cleaner
- Donut County
- Evil West
- Pacific Drive
- The Casting of Frank Stone
- Nova Roma (Windows)
- Superball (perks, the game is free to play)
Outside of Expedition 33 there are quite a few popular titles leaving the service. Crime Scene Cleaner has proven to be a surprise hit for the service, and the Plague Tale games are always a popular choice. With Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy in the service though it does make some sense that Requiem will be leaving.
Of course the focus for many Game Pass users will be the newest additions to the service from Xbox themselves with Minecraft Dungeons 2 and Gears of War: E-Day. Our reviews of both suggest that Xbox has a couple of hits on their hands, and E-Day could be a potential Game of the Year nominee for 2026.
And if you are an achievement hunter, Minecraft Dungeons 2 is a rather easy completion. With the introduction of Xbox’s Mythic achievement players may be on the hunt for games like that.
Looking Ahead
While we haven’t actually got an announcement from Xbox just yet on what is coming to the service in October, we do already know a bunch of day 1 titles that are coming the service in the first half of the month.

- Chained Beasts – October 15th
That lineup alone alongside Gears of War: E-Day which releases to everyone on October 6th is already a stellar lineup. We will have to wait and see what else they may add. However until then you may want to focus on some games leaving the service before its too late!
