Among the many announcements at the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct 2026, we got the world premiere of WANE, a stylish-looking isometric turn-based roguelite developed by Metis Creative and published by Shoreline Games. It currently does not have a release date, but is slated for PC and consoles, with a demo planned to release in 2027.
Check out the WANE world premiere trailer below.
Set against the backdrop of a noir industrial world, WANE casts the player as Declan Wayne, a once-brilliant archaeologist, now a husk of the man he was, his mind broken by what he found when he unearthed the city of Ravelle and its three long dead civilisations. His search for a cure has led him back to the source of his torment, bankrolling perilous expeditions into the labyrinthine city, now warped and reawakened by Declan’s memories. Your goal: to descend to the heart of Ravelle and cut out the rot, in the hopes of saving what’s left of your mind before it’s gone.
Recruit a team fo three for each expedition from a roster of bizarre individuals, from a disgraced pilot turned mecha to an assassin whose vocal cords are under the control of a demon, and control them in tense, turn-based tactical combat. Utilise their unique abilities, devise combos between party members, use the environment to your advantage, and hope the dice roll in your favour. You’ll also need to take care of your crew outside of combat, quashing any disputes and keeping them working together, despite their own motivations.
Explore the Ravellian Sanatorium, the Palace of Arvanshah, and the Death Pilgrimage to Erabel, each of the three biomes connected to Ravelle’s history and Declan’s fractured memories. Each run deeper into Ravelle exposes more about the twisted city, with the monstrosities your crew faces and the rooms they traverse reordering themselves as she wants. Uncover safe rooms, shortcuts, and work out which enemies are worth avoiding, giving your crew the best chance to get their findings and themselves out in one piece.

Of course, none of this is cheap, so you’ll need to cover the cost of each expedition, like supplies, mercenary paychecks, and medical bills. Appraise and auction some of the antiquities you plunder from within the winding streets of Ravelle to fund your mission, as well as upgrade your facilities, and don’t stop until you’ve reached the heart of Ravelle, before your mind finally wanes.
An interesting detail about WANE is that it is the first video game developed by Metis Creative, who have already found success with their range of TTRPGs, so it will be interesting to see if they can transfer what they have learned to a digital medium.
WANE is planned to release on PC and consoles, with a demo releasing in 2027.
