Xbox Game Pass Unveils Wave 2 September Titles

The end of September is a big month for gaming, and that includes for Xbox Game Pass. Today the service unveiled their wave 2 lineup for the month, including a couple big day 1 titles.

The 2 biggest games for wave 2 are both day 1 first party titles in Minecraft Dungeons 2 & Gears Of War: E-Day.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 is a sequel to the somewhat surprising hit game from 2020. As Mojang worked to expand the super popular Minecraft universe, it made its first attempt with Dungeons. A dungeon crawler type game that mixed Minecraft with games like Diablo turned out to be a great idea. I wasn’t sold on it at first, but I definitely came around after playing it and my hype for the sequel is high.

The sequel is set to be more of the same with some major improvements as they expand on the series. With a formula in place that worked it will be interesting to see where they can take it.

The other big release, Gears Of War: E-Day is technically an October game, but it still makes the September wave. Releasing October 6th, it is sure to get the blood pumping for many. Having previewed the campaign last month, it really does look like a return to form for the series and has easily been my most anticipated game of 2026. And if you can’t wait, you can get the premium upgrade with your Game Pass subscription to get the game October 1st.

E-Day is set to bring Gears of War back to its roots while forging a path for the next era of the franchise

Beyond those 2 big releases, there are some other interesting additions. Well Dweller is looking like a fun little indie game and a nice alternative to the AAA September releases. Runescape: Dragonwilds also hits consoles today and is joining Game Pass Ultimate. Having been in early access since early this year, it has a little bit of buzz around it.
