Developers Fire & Frost have confirmed that their open-world RPG, Of Ash and Steel, has some new DLC in development, alongside a console release.
Announced at the tinyBuild Connect Publisher Showcase 2026, the game will release on both PS5 and Xbox Series at some point. Though a specific date or window was not confirmed for the console release or the DLC.
Of Ash and Steel is described as an “immersive third-person open-world RPG created by a passionate team that values the essence of classic old-school RPGs and modern design.”

Shattered Faith DLC
The trailer also confirms the development of a new DLC for the game, Shattered Faith. The DLC will introduce a new storyline, unique magical powers and weapons to take on previously seen enemies alongside some new ones too. It also promises new uncharted lands to explore on the “other side of Grayshaft”.
You will join a mysterious expedition that is journeying to the retrace the steps of the Primestriders as they search for powerful artefacts. The story will take you to the depths of secrets of those who have come before.
Of Ash and Steel was certainly not a title I was aware of before today’s showcase (there’s a lot of games out there). It’s certainly piqued my interest and will check out the release when it arrives on console.
