Nintendo Switch Online is the gift of classic games that keeps giving. Last month, two previously unreleased Virtual Boy games were added completing the entourage of Nintendo VR games joining the service. Today, Nintendo have announced that three new NES games are now part of the service.
The three titles joining the service are:
- Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom
- Ikari Warriors
- R.C. Pro-AM 2
Nintendo have released a video showcasing the games in all their 8-bit glory for players to get a taste of the newly added titles. These are playable on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2:
What has been slow and steady, is the addition of new GameCube games to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack for Switch 2 owners. Launched with Switch 2 last year, the catalogue hasn’t grown as quickly as many would have liked. However, given the used games market prices for GameCube games such as Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness, any title added gives a new generation the chance to try largely inaccessible titles.
Nintendo have also announced today that they’re continuing support for some of their more recent titles, as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has received new features when played on Switch 2. The features include 8 player local play, increased performance and Switch 2 CameraPlay support.
