I love nature. Younger me would spend many a nice day hiking the woods. But not the woods that you’ll experience in Trees Hate You.

Amongst the many announcements that we got at yesterday’s Future Games Show at Gamescom 2026, we received a release date trailer from Tykenn Games. Yes, the studio behind the upcoming Trees Hate You will be unleashing (uprooting?) their new project to the masses on November 16th, 2026.

What’s on Show in the Trailer?

You might be wondering, how aggressive can trees be? Well, Tykenn Games wants you to know this – VERY. As you hike through the forest of Trees Hate You, you will be tricked, conned, bullied, and assaulted by all manner of leafy resident in this forest.

I can imagine the rage. The fury. Oh, and the desire to locate many hats that you’ll find scattered around the forest! Trees Hate You truly does fall into that classic camp of the ragebait games. You think you have found the way to do something, only to have your perceived progress decimated by a random branch. There will also be several biomes to traverse, from snowy mountaintops, to more tropical beaches (full of flying coconuts for some reason).

Trees Hate Us is slated to launch on Steam and currently has a demo available on their page now.
