Developers of The Ascent, Neon Giant were part of the gamescom Opening Night Live show last night – catch-up on all the announcements here – bringing fresh gameplay and story footage of their upcoming open world FPS, No Law which was revealed at The Game Awards 2025.
In No Law, players will take the role of Grey Harker, an ex-military vet. Leaving his war-torn past behind he is looking for a more peaceful life back in the city of Port Desire. Unfortunately for Grey, the trouble he is trying to avoid is knocking on his door. Grey is a hard looking bastard who will need to use all the firearm and gadget experience from his military days to survive this lawless city.
It is a very mature shooter with the ability to explode heads off bodies and combust full humans into a pool of blood and guts. The trailer features plenty of footage of the neon-drenched Port Desire, with an abundance of eclectic NPCs who Grey will encounter. The game is full of impactful choices, with the developers encouraging multiple playthroughs for alternate paths and endings.
Whilst the gunplay looks fluid with an array of firearms, alongside vertical movement and sliding shooting, Harker will have to utilise plenty of gadgets and stealth to slay his foes. There’s electric rounds, cyber powers that can tear enemies to pieces and even a vacuum cleaner that Harker can hack into to make his enemies explode.
No Law will release in 2027 on XBOX Series X|S (including Play Anywhere), PlayStation 5 and PC (Windows, Steam and EGS). Players can wishlist on their chosen platform now.
