Fresh off of last year’s excellent Silent Hill f, Konami is making the jump from J-horror to S-horror (that’s Scottish horror) with another stand-alone entry in the psychological horror series, Silent Hill: Townfall. With this first-person take on the franchise by developer Screen Burn gearing up for release next month, Konami has released a hauntingly atmospheric 19-minute gameplay trailer showcasing the puzzles, stealth, and combat.
Silent Hill: Townfall is the last of the initial line-up of Silent Hill games announced by Konami in October 2022. Titles included Silent Hill: Ascension, Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake, NeoBards’ Silent Hill f, and Christophe Gans’ film Return to Silent Hill.
Townfall is being developed by Scottish studio Screen Burn (formerly No Code), who previously developed Observation and Stories Untold. The game is being published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive.
Ahead of a new trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live next week, Konami has uploaded 19 minutes of gameplay showcasing various elements of Silent Hill: Townfall and its fictional town of St. Amelia. Gameplay has been compared to Alien: Isolation, with protagonist Simon wielding a handheld CRTV device that assists during combat and puzzles.
The trailer also showcases Townfall’s stronger emphasis on stealth. The first enemy encounter sees the player using the CRTV device to avoid confrontation. While Simon does receive a gun during the Otherworld sequence, enemy encounters look frantic and unpredictable.

Silent Hill: Townfall will release for PC and PS5 on September 24th 2026.
