If you have been waiting to play one of last years best games in Ghost of Yotei, there may be no better time to jump in than later this year. Today Sucker Punch Productions & PlayStation have announced the Ghost of Y?tei Complete Edition that will include a ton of new content, including a new expansion.
The Ghost Of Yotei Complete Edition is available October 1st for PlayStation 5 for $69.99USD and $89.99CAD. This new edition will include the base game alongside a host of new content and updates. The biggest piece of new content will be the Ghost of Yotei: Echoes of Sekigahara narrative expansion. This expansion will see players split their time between present day and the past. The flashbacks will take place on the mainland and players will meet Nagato, a figure from Astu’s past.
While on the mainland we will see a new unseen valley that was once run by The Snake and his loyal followers, the Vipers. In addition to this new area players will face new enemies and find new heavy weapons, new armor sets, new dyes, and more.
This expansion will look to build on the already great base game. In our review of Ghost of Yotei we gave it a 9 saying “Though it might not reinvent the wheel, Ghost of Yotei is another solid entry in Sony’s cinematic single player catalog that should be picked up by anyone who enjoy the beauty hidden between the cuts of a katana.”
Most Wanted
In addition to the new story expansion, Sucker Punch is also releasing a roguelike mode called Most Wanted. Players will accept bounties which will require you to take down enemies and gain new perks. The more bounties you complete the more powerful Astu becomes. There will also be new characters available to play as you complete bounties.
Lastly, the Complete Edition launch will bring new tracks for Watanabe Mode that will be available throughout the entire game when the mode is enabled. We will also see new trophies for the new content and new photo mode stamps.
Sucker Punch will reveal more details for both Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted in the lead up to the Complete Edition release. For those that already own the base game you can purchase the Complete Edition upgrade for $14.99USD.
