Grand Theft Auto VI Price and Pre-Install Date Confirmed

Concerns over a $100 Grand Theft Auto VI standard edition price can now finally be put to bed as Rockstar Games have officially revealed the price of the biggest video game of all time.

For months, many have speculated that Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two would use their juggernaut IP to push gaming to have higher price points. Online, some had been worried that a $100 standard edition was on the cards, though the publisher had tried to ease these fears.

This morning, Rockstar have finally pulled back the curtain on Grand Theft Auto VI’s pricing and further details as pre-orders open tomorrow, June 25, 2026.

GTA VI Price:

Grand Theft Auto VI launches with two editions, a Standard Edition and an Ultimate Edition. Their prices are as follows:

Standard Edition: $79.99 (other region pricing to be added as available)
Ultimate Edition: $99.99 (other region pricing to be added as available)

The game will be available in digital and physical forms. Unfortunately for physical game enthusiasts, the game will be a ‘code in a box’ and no GTA VI discs will be printed.

Details of retailers who will be taking physical pre-orders from tomorrow is so far unannounced.

GTA VI Pre-Install:

Rockstar Games have further announced that the game will be pre-installable. Ahead of the full launch on November 19, 2026, the game will be downloadable from November 12, 2026. This means as soon as your PlayStation 5 or XBOX Series X|S allows you to hit start on the game, you’ll be installed and ready to head into Vice City.
