Often times a game slips from your radar when it’s not on the platform you use. That was certainly the case for me with The Planet Crafter when it launched on PC. Now 2 million sales later, the game is heading to Xbox and PlayStation next month as well as Xbox Game Pass.
Releasing July 21st, Miju Games interesting take on a survival game will look to make waves on console. Since it’s release in 2024 into early access on PC, the game has gone on to sell more than 2 million copies since its 1.0 release while receiving 15 updates and 2 DLC packs, all with the help of community feedback.
The Planet Crafter is a much different survival game than most. No guns or weapons, no zombies to avoid. Just you and a planet full of resources that you must learn to use to build your habitat across a vast planet. Players will need to literally do it all. Create oxygen, grow and find food and water and explore the world to uncover new ways to do so. Many players have called it “Subnautica on Mars” and I can see why.
It is amazing to see a game like this success and flourish enough to come over to consoles, especially from such a small studio.
“When we started, we were just two people in the south of France” Said Miju Games co-founders, Amélie and Brice. “Today, now with a team of seven, and two million terraformers later, we’re landing on consoles. What an amazing adventure, all thanks to our amazing community!”

The Planet Crafter can be played as a completely solo experience or by sharing a co-op world with up to 8 others. They say the magic really happens when a group gets together and builds their world, sharing each resource and working together, especially over a long period.
For those interested The Planet Crafter will be available for $23.99 USD / €23.99 EUR on the PlayStation Store, and Microsoft Store, while also launching Day 1 on XBOX Game Pass on July 21st.
