Echoes Of Aincrad Gets A Demo On PC & Consoles

First announced in March of this year, the action RPG Echoes of Aincrad is launching soon on PC, PS5, and XBOX Series X/S, and to get players ready for the full release, a demo is now available on PC and will be coming to consoles tomorrow.

Developed by Game Studio Inc. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., Echoes of Aincrad is a single-player action RPG set in the world of Sword Art Online, an online video game where dying in the game means death in real life.

Set in the floating castle of Aincrad, you become a ‘player’ and create your own hero with an extensive avatar customisation system, instead of playing as the SAO series protagonist, Kiriko. This gives fans the chance to experience the world from the perspective of one of the 10,00 Beta players and become the hero of their own story, while still crossing paths with familiar faces like Kirito and Asuna.

Take on quests and missions to progress through the story, upgrading your equipment, weapons, attributes, and select special skills to match your preferred playstyle. Wide open plains, dank and mysterious dungeons, grand castles, and more all await on the first two floors of Aincrad Castle.

You won’t have to adventure alone, with several partners available to accompany you and take instruction, changing how they behave during the game’s real-time combat system. Echoes of Aincrad also features an optional permadeath mode, or “Death Game Mode”, to replicate the high-stakes thrills of the original story.

In the demo for Echoes of Aincrad, players can create their character, take on five full missions, test out every weapon type, and get a head start before the real death game begins, carrying over their progress to the full release.

Echoes of Aincrad launches on July 10th across PC, PlayStation 5, and XBOX Series X/S, with a demo available now on PC via Steam. The demo arrives on PS5 and XBOX Series X/S tomorrow.
