Date Everything! Celebrates One Year With Self Care Update

One year ago an ambitious, crazy, and entertaining dating sim launched called Date Everything! In case you missed it, it was a dating sim where you could date household objects. Feel free to check out our review here if you haven’t already. However, one year later, the tam at Sassy Chap games is celebrating with a new update to the game which they’ve dubbed the “Self Care” update.

The new update brings exciting fan requested changes to the game. Some of these changes are as simple as being able to bind the keys as players see fit and others are bringing new content aware alerts to the game. Certain characters originally did not have content aware descriptions and will now be getting those or updated descriptions to keep players feeling safe. Players will now also be able to change their pronouns at any time and certain characters have had their voice actors brought back to record new lines. This makes it an exciting time for players who perhaps played when the game first launched to dive back in and find these new updates.

For those who also perhaps have been waiting to play on a XBOX handheld console, great news, the compatibility is coming with this new update.

The date a dex is one area getting updates! Controller functionality will be improved! How exciting!

What is the Community Sourced Feedback?

The community is strong when it comes to Date Everything! Their discord is very active and they are always looking to hear from the players. One area players were vocal with is the sensitivity feedback. In order to make this a game where players can really feel reflected, certain updates have been added.

Eddie has an additional line that remembers if the player doesn’t drink alcohol
Players no longer have to be mean to Barry to win Bathsheba’s affection
Players can confidently say that they already know about ‘shade’ with Curt and Rod, skipping the concept’s tutorial
Player is able to more confidently say where Travellers are from with Gaia (info found in Date-a-Dex)
More sensitive player choices in general for Farya, Arma, I, Ronaldini, Freddy, Mitchell, Maggie, Scandalabra, Stefan, Stepford, Teddy, and Zoey
Removal of negative references to multiple personalities in Lyric
