The remake of William Rous’ viral puzzle game Type Help, The Incident at Galley House got a release date trailer today. Developed by Evil Trout Inc, the team behind The Roottrees are Dead, The Incident at Galley House tasks players with untangling the dark, lost memories of an isolated estate.
The brief, atmospheric trailer gives a much closer look at the eerie presentation players can expect. Shifting away from the digital search engine aesthetic of The Roottrees are Dead, this project focuses entirely on digging into old memories within the walls of a grand mansion.
The footage showcases a retro interface where users can select rooms like the entrance, living room, or study to trace footsteps and recover lost memories. As players map out the timeline, they must decipher the identities of ten distinct silhouetted figures who visited the estate.
The trailer highlights fully voiced dialogue from a cast of characters who quickly realise something is deeply wrong inside the house. Tensions rise as the characters deal with an unexpected death, paranoia, and a growing sense that the house itself is playing tricks on their minds.
With Henning Ludvigsen’s hand-drawn art styling the entire investigation, the game looks to be an incredibly atmospheric follow-up for deduction fans. The mystery uncovers in full when The Incident at Galley House hits Steam this summer on the 14th of July.
