During the June 2026 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo and the Pokémon Company announced a new free update for the hit game that launched earlier this year. This free update brings the move Dive, allowing Ditto to explore underwater. You’ll be able to explore, build, and plant to greatly expand your towns you already have set up. Also announced during the direct was an expansion pass, bringing in three waves of content.
Check out the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass trailer below.
The trailer shows Ditto swimming, diving, making grass, and setting up pathways and buildings with other pokémon able to travel with you.
The three parts of the Expansion Pass are:
- Part 1: Bubbly Basin – new town and pokémon, available August 2026
- Part 2: Additional features, available late 2026
- Part 3: Additional new town, available 2027

Players who purchase the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC can claim a recipe for dynamic Ditto print blocks and wallpaper, which is redeemable for use in-game upon purchase. Also, players who purchase the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC by Tuesday, August 31, 2027, will receive a code for 30 rare Pokémetal ingots. This code will be sent to the email address registered to the player’s Nintendo Account and can be redeemed via the Mystery Gifts feature in-game.

The expansion pass for Pokémon Pokopia is priced at $34.99 and is available for purchase today on the Nintendo eShop.
