One of the many “World Premieres” we saw at the XBOX Games Showcase 2026 was for Magicians: The Devil’s Deal, a magically-themed, single-player, first-person shooter coming to PC, PS5, and XBOX Series X/S in 2027.

Developed by Uppercut Games and published by Focus Entertainment, Magicians: The Devil’s Deal is a narrative-driven first-person adventure, where magic has broken free from the stage and is running amok. You play as Jacob Menteuro, a celebrated stage magician who is cast into Hell and trapped within Theartreland: a twisted realm ruled by the rivals who betrayed him, the Masters. After making a pact with the Devil himself, Jacob will have to use the abilities he once used to wow the crowds to escape this magical madness.
In a Q&A posted on the Magicians: The Devil’s Deal Steam page, the developers shared some details regarding the game’s story, combat, and setting.
“Stage magic is more than a weapon. It becomes a lethal discipline as cards turn into razor?sharp projectiles, chains ensnare your enemies, and gravity itself bends to your will. Each Realm is ruled by powerful Masters and filled with relentless fanatics and nightmarish performers. Every encounter demands observation, adaptation, and mastery, pushing you to turn spectacle into dominance and fully embrace the role of the ultimate trickster!”

Magicians: The Devil’s Deal was a lovely surprise, one that looks like it could fill that Bioshock/Dishonored-shaped hole in many a gamer’s heart.
Magicians: The Devil’s Deal comes to PC, PlayStation 5, and XBOX Series X/S in 2027, and will be released on XBOX Game Pass.
