Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Deep Dive Released at Future Games Fest

A Classic Refined: Honoring the Original

Tomb Raider is one of those games that is synonymous with one thing – being a pioneer. The original games released back in the 90’s on the PlayStation were some of the most revolutionary games of their time. They created a world that the players wanted to explore, while giving you the freedom of discovering the mysteries of the ancient world while playing as one of the most iconic video game characters ever created.

In the years since then, the series has gone through more then enough evolutions. The most recent foray into Lara Croft’s archeological discovers were mostly well received, but many fans of the originals felt like the woman they fell in love with had been replaced with someone that felt more cookie cutter and basic. As someone who played these recent iterations of the titular Tomb Raider, I have to agree with this sentiment. Sure they sported her name, but they were seemingly missing the one thing that made her so unique back in the day – tan cargo shorts.

I kid of course, but as with most titles released thirty years ago, sometimes all you need is a fresh coat of paint to revitalize what once was. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis seeks to honor the past while pushing full steam ahead into the future of the series. Through a new trailer shown at the Future Games Show, we are able to get a deeper look into the revision of a classic through the game’s director Paul Siqueira. Check it out down below.

Experience the pinnacle of adventure with Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a stunning reimagining of the 1996 genre-defining game.

Legacy of Atlantis Launch Schedule

As Lara Croft, harness your wits and athleticism to explore exotic locations lost to time—from the jungles of Peru to the ancient ruins of Greece, the deserts of Egypt, and a mysterious Mediterranean island shrouded in myth. Traverse treacherous landscapes, solve deadly contraptions, and face lethal predators as you hunt for the scattered pieces of the Scion, an artifact of immeasurable power.

Whether you’re a veteran raider or new to Lara’s world, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis delivers jaw-dropping visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5, modern game design, and new surprises, while honoring the spirit and atmosphere of Lara Croft’s debut adventure.
