The Price of Blood: A Tale of Desperation
The Blood of Dawnwalker has been one of my most anticipated titles that is set to release this year. Between the medieval fantasy setting and the story of how far Coen is willing to go to right his wrongs, I am a firm believer that this game will be one of the surprise hits of 2026. The Blood of Dawnwalker is an open-world dark fantasy action RPG set in 14th-century Europe. You play as Coen, human by day and vampire by night, fighting to save your family in a story shaped by your actions and the secrets you uncover.
The Summer Game Fest trailer gives us a glance into some of the vampires that we’ll be fighting against. Each one looks to fill a different niche as far as their general appearance and temperament towards humans as a whole. The trailer also gives us a pretty brutal glance into the combat and how your blade reacts with the things you’re up against. From decapitated heads and other body parts, to bodies exploding into gory bits, it looks as if we will be getting a fair bit of variety in how brutal the combat can get. Though there isn’t too much else to dissect here, the trailer does do a good job at again giving us just enough to keep the hype levels at an all time high.

Until it’s release date later this year, all we can do is hope that the game delivers the promise that they’ve set out to accomplish. This dark fantasy action RPG by Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco will launch simultaneously for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 3rd, 2026.
