The Tank Is Still Full: Capcom’s Continued Dominance
Capcom has been on a tear in the past few years. From the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes to tackling the impossible task of remaking one of the most iconic games of the century in the Resident Evil 4 Remake, they have proved that they are not only the kings of survival horror, but that they are intent on keeping that title. And that is without even mentioning the new entry in the series Resident Evil Requiem, a game that is firmly nestled in my GOTY race for this year. But the best part is they clearly still have some gas left in the tank.
Resident Evil Code Veronica is a game that I never played in all my years as a survival horror aficionado. It appears it might be time to dust it off so I know what I’m getting into. Either way, it looks to be the same level of quality as the previous games they’ve released in the past few years, and I am more then ready to experience one of the cult classic Resident Evil titles with a modern coat of paint.
With an expected release date of 2027, we might have to still wait a bit for it to be in our hands. At least you have a few months to play the original and give yourself a bit of a refresher. Until we get a firm release date in the near future, we can just guess based on their previous games. Here’s a few stills from the trailer.
