Sumo Digital Announces Spyder: Agent 8 And Their Partnership With PQube

Earlier today, Sumo Digital announced their upcoming game, Spyder: Agent 8, slated to release on PC and consoles this year. As part of the reveal, a partnership with indie publisher PQube was announced, who will be helping publish the game digitally, as well as a physical edition on PlayStation 5. A demo for the game is available now on PC via Steam.

Check out the announcement trailer for Spyder: Agent 8 below.

“Sneak into a retro-futuristic 1970s spy thriller like no other! Spyder: Agent 8 spins a gripping tale starring the world’s greatest secret agent; one so tiny they can fit into the palm of your hand. Built by a group of scientists within an elite spy group, the Secret Agent Facilitation Enterprise (S.A.F.E.), Agent 8 is a deceptively cute robotic spider equipped with sticky feet that can infiltrate spaces no human spy could ever reach. Agent 8 may be tiny, but the mission is massive: stop the Syndicate of International Nasties (S.I.N.) and save the world.”

Spyder: Agent 8 is an adventure puzzle game where you play as the titular Agent 8, a tiny technological spider on a mission to stop S.I.N., using their ability to walk on any surface as well as a variety of gadgets and gizmos. You’ll explore large, exciting levels, avoiding detection to complete daring missions, solve environmental puzzles, and uncover secrets. From rescuing astronauts to sabotaging a submarine and stopping a speeding train, it’s up to Agent 8 to figure out the solution and save the day!

Spyder: Agent 8 Key Features:

  • A clever, charming hero who can crawl into every hidden corner.
  • Sneak through exciting maps and complete daring missions. Hide from cameras, stay undetected, and outsmart obstacles before disaster strikes!
  • Use tools like your cutting torch to slice through panels, or your web grapple to swing across gaps as you take on exciting spy missions.
  • Push, pull, and launch objects to open secret paths, trigger surprises, and find creative ways to complete each mission.
  • Step into a colorful retro world inspired by 1970s spy films. Detailed, lively visuals bring every mission to life, making you feel like a true superspy.
  • Crawl upside down, across walls, ceilings, and floors while the camera smoothly follows your moves.
  • Play levels again and again to uncover hidden treasures, find collectibles, and unlock achievements.

While we don’t have a release date yet, a demo for Spyder: Agent 8 is available now on PC via Steam.

Spyder: Agent 8 is slated to release in 2026, digitally across PC (Steam & Epic Game Store), PS5, XBOX Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, with a physical release planned on PS5.
