At the inaugural Insider Gaming Showcase yesterday, Norwegian indie developer, LEIK debuted their breakout falling-block puzzle game, Dicetris. And oh does it look addictive.
Dicetris blends together Tetris-like vertical column stacking with maths and dice. Instead of creating shapes to clear lines, the core aim of Dicetris is to use your dice to meet the score of the counter at the bottom of the column.
In Dicetris’s Journey mode you will travel through an array of background biomes tackling the core falling-block puzzles, but the game will through extra tasks at you including rule-bending map conditions, the requirement to clear specific blocks and select dice which will sabotage your efforts.
There will be more to Dicetris in the form of extra game modes, including Daily Runs which gives players “the same dice in the same order, and same board-bending mechanics. Once a day.”. Players will be able to tackle global Dicetris’ leaderboards. There will, of course, be an Endless mode for those looking for extended sessions.
If you’d like to check Dicetris out now ahead of its full launch this July, there is a demo now available via the Steam page.
Dicetris arrives on Steam on July 8, 2026. Players can wishlist now.
